Meet Teresa
Teresa's inventory of ideas comes primarily from things found in nature...a myriad of organic surfaces that provide endless catalysts for altering clay...most often becoming a coil pot. She is a studio potter who specializes in hand built vessels. Although her work takes a variety of forms from the functional to the sculptural, it is always an exploration of texture occasionally including other materials that complement the piece.
The rich heritage of potters' work and their writing continue to be her teachers. Although constantly learning about the technical side of clay...it is the problem solving that comes with working through a theme that is the most compelling...imagery that appears in her sculptural work.
She received a BA in Visual Art from the University of Northern Colorado and an MS in Arts Administration from Parsons School of Design/Bank Street College of Education. Teresa resides in Centennial, Colorado...beginning life here and returning after living many other places.
Her sketchbooks are full of images but also lists...things to try and pots to make!
